How To Show Up In Google Without SEO

Today I’m going to talk about how to show up in Google without paying for SEO.

How many of you don’t really understand SEO?

How many have paid for SEO before, only to have received nothing in return?

I can imagine the frustration.

Actually, I experienced it myself first hand, many years ago.

This was before I knew much about SEO.

I thought I knew, but the reality was, I was a noob. And I got taken for a ride.

This is what prompted me to dive headfirst into the world of SEO.

I sought out the top SEO strategists and listened to what they had to say.

The truths I learned blew me away, and I’ll be sharing each and every one of them with you too.

For now, let me cover this most basic truth: that you can show up without paying for SEO.

Get A Website Built By A Professional Who Understands SEO

This almost sounds like it goes without saying.

You’re like, yeah mate, no shit.

But the reality is professionals are not a dime a dozen.

There are many pretenders out there.

To make it even more frustrating, most if not all web designers will claim to include SEO (hence implying they understand SEO).

However, I’ve done enough audits to know most websites are not built with correct SEO.

Ask to see examples of the SEO work.

Look in particular for evidence of the On-Page SEO (that is, proof of the work they did on the actual website, not just pics of rankings, etc).

Complete All On-Page SEO

On-Page SEO includes page titles.

The text that appears in the browser tab and above descriptions in the search results.

It includes meta descriptions. They are those descriptions as they appear in the search results.

It includes H Tags. These are tags we give to certain headings, to tell Google Bots, “Hey, here’s what this page is about.”

It includes Alt Text. This is the text we attribute to images, because Google Bots can’t see images (they can only read code).

And it includes many other things that I won’t address because it’s beyond the scope of this article.

Index Into Google Search Console

The final step which can also be overlooked by the amateurs is indexing into Google Search Console.

It’s kinda like registering your website inside the Big Bad G’s central database so it knows you, tells it’s Google Bots to read you, and can start placing you in it’s search results.

If your On Page is on point, Big G should have no problem identifying your keywords, location and start giving you whats called “Impressions”.

Each impression is a time you showed up in someone’s search.

Are you first page? Of course not. But you’re getting traffic now, and that’s what matters.
